REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, EC 1907/2006) is the European Union’s chemical regulation that came into force on 1 June 2007 and will be phased in over an 11 year period (until 2018). Lindab supports the basic objective of REACH to further improve the European Union’s chemicals regulatory system, including the aim to advance public health and safety and the protection of the environment.

Lindab will meet all REACH requirements and is committed to working with our suppliers and customers to ensure continued supply of our products. We do not anticipate any disruptions of product supplies to our customers. Additional information regarding Lindab’s REACH activities will be communicated to our customers either directly or through our Web site.

Downstream user

To verify that all of our European suppliers comply with the REACH regulation we have launched a survey. Our main suppliers have certified that they are REACH approved or have implemented a REACH project.

(Pre-) registration

Importers are obliged to register substances they import in quantities over 1 ton per year. The registration requirement applies to substances on their own, in preparations and in articles under special conditions (intentional release). After a careful assessment of the substances imported into the EU by Lindab it is the Company’s assessment that none of the substances require (pre-) registration.

SVHC

Suppliers of articles must provide its customers with information on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) if those are present above a concentration limit of 0.1 % on an article level. SVHC is defined through a list of candidate substances for authorization that is produced by the European Chemicals Agency. None of our products contain SVHC in concentrations above the specified limit.
